Honoring military heroes after death, Famous graveyards, Military graveyards & patriotism

A military graveyard is a cemetery for members of the armed forces. In many countries, it is the only form of burial allowed for military personnel, with the exception of those who die in active combat. Military cemeteries are usually maintained by the government and can be located near a base or other facility, or at a remote location away from populated areas. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a monument dedicated to an unidentified soldier killed in action during World War I and World War II. The term “unknown soldier” has been used as an analogy for any unknown person’s body brought to burial in many cultures since ancient times. Military graveyards have always been important to patriotism because they represent sacrifice and service to one’s country.
